Cool Critters

Take a look at these cool ‘Critters’ I picked up this afternoon!ย ๐Ÿ˜Žย ‘Ruby’ ‘Amber’ ‘Jade’ ‘Pearl’ and ‘Sapphira’! These guys could cause a riot at the hospital! Such great attitudes and just so darn cuddly! A huge thank you to Chris for this wonderful donation!ย ๐Ÿ’–ย I can definitely see a ‘monster’ working bee in the near future!ย ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nimmitabel to the Rescue

9 July – Several months ago a beautiful person donated some gorgeous but unusual wool to GoG via the Canberra Hospital. Not knowing what to do with it, I took it to the Wool Expo at the Old Bus Depot Markets. There I was put in touch with the very lovely Barbara, Fibre Artist from Nimmitabel, who explained that it was ‘roving’ which needed to be spun! After hearing about how we came to have it and who GoG was, she very kindly offered to spin it for us!โค๏ธ This weekend she returned to the Markets with the completed product! ๐Ÿ˜

I would like to say a very heartfelt thanks to all the spinners who helped with this project (esp the lovely lady who took the time to dye some a gorgeous red๐Ÿ˜Š). I can’t wait to start working on a blanket with this! Thank you Barbara!ย ๐Ÿ’

P.J. Feedback from Jason

With permission I’d like to share this feedback from a grateful family member of a patient at Canberra Hospital.ย  Huge thanks to Mission Stitchin’ for a wonderful job!
Jason isย feeling thankful atย Canberra Hospital.

A huge thank you to Kath from Canberra Hospital ICU and June (Mission Stitchin’ – GoGs) for assisting with turning some of Jakeโ€™s clothes into hospital friendly gowns. While he may not be awake enough to say thanks himself it has undoubtedly made him feel more comfortable during this difficult time. You guys are legends!

Hiย Jason, The amazing June has done some beautiful work on his clothing and we are just so pleased to be able to be of some help to make Jake’s time in hospital as comfortable as possible. All the very best from all of us here at GoG!

Thanks Mary, it really is amazing work you guys do. So selfless! A big BZ to everyone at GoG, especially June for her wonderful work and attention to detail! Amazing! P.S. BZ is a military term (give it a google).

“The combination of the Bravo and Zulu nautical signal flags, eg, Bravo Zulu, also referred to as “BZ”, is a naval signal, typically conveyed by flghoist or voice radio, meaning “Well Done” with regard to actions, operations or performance.”

The PJs went very well, the pants were excellentโ€ฆ.I think the design is well thought through and should be sustained for the next pair!

Hi Jason, I am one of the many GoG members trying to make a difference in people’s lives. This story touches our hearts, more than you could know. Everything we make is made with love. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’– – Vicki
