Let’s make the Canberra Hospital all ‘AGOG’ with “Goodeze” this Christmas!! 🎁
A hospital visit at any time of the year can be distressing, but to be an inpatient or to have a loved one suddenly in hospital over Christmas can be particularly difficult.
GoG is aiming to bring some ‘comfort and joy’ to patients and their loved ones, as well as help brighten the day of the amazing nursing staff at the CH by providing them with Goodeze to hand out to those in need.
If each member donates just 1 ball we could complete a beanie, Goodee Doll or some squares for a comforting blanket and help over 100 patients!
If you would like to contribute, wool can be taken to the Canberra Hospital Donation Station and placed in the box marked GoG, or dropped off at Hobby Sew Belconnen Mall. Contact us to make other arrangements.
GOG has come of age! 😁 Tonight Wendy and I attended The Canberra Hospital Foundation “Thank You” event at the GIO Stadium, our first official function! It was an amazing evening filled with inspirational people and special guests including His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) and Lady Cosgrove, Mrs Debbie Rolfe AM, Chair, Canberra Hospital Foundation and Shane Rattenbury MLA. Thank you to The Foundation for the invitation and the recognition we received for all the love and passion that our members put into their Goodies. 💜
Congratulations Mary for your leadership of the Good Omen Goodeze! What an achievement to get this recognition from Prof Strickland for supporting nursing education about comfort care to the UC Nursing Students and Hiroshima Nursing Students.
Thankyou Tess for also supporting Mary in the presentation of GOGs comfort goods and thankyou to all the GOGs for the effort and time you contribute to this project. – Kath TCH ICU
